Pixel Art & Retro Game Pack

Hero sprites, RPG item sheets, dungeon maps, gothic castles, autumn villages and underwater ruins — nine pixel prompts that respect the grid.

Pixel art fails in AI for one specific reason: the model renders an *illustration of* pixel art rather than pixel art itself. You get soft anti-aliased edges, colour gradients across what should be flat blocks, and pixels of inconsistent size within the same image — a picture that looks pixelated from a distance and falls apart the moment you zoom. The fix is to name the grid and the palette as constraints rather than as decoration: a stated pixel resolution, a limited indexed colour count, hard edges with no anti-aliasing, and dithering instead of gradients for shading. Every prompt in this pack does that, which is why they hold up scaled down as well as scaled up. The nine are chosen to cover the actual jobs pixel art gets used for rather than nine variations of one scene: character work in a hero sprite and an RPG tavern NPC, asset work in an item sheet and a dungeon map, and environment work across an autumn village lane, a lighthouse at sunset, a gothic castle, a tropical island cove and underwater temple ruins. Settings are published per entry, and the notes call out which clause is holding the grid together in each case.
