Desert Motel Neon Sign at Dusk

Midjourney

Desert motel at dusk with a glowing pink and amber neon sign reflected in wet asphalt — Example image rendered by Promptkoi with FLUX.2 or GPT Image 2 as a preview of the composition — not a Midjourney output; expect the same subject and layout in Midjourney's own style.

Prompt

A roadside desert motel at dusk, low single-storey block with turquoise doors, a tall mid-century neon sign on a steel pole beside the highway with a blank unlit sign panel and only the arrow and starburst elements glowing pink and amber, wet asphalt reflecting the neon after a brief rain, deep indigo sky with the last orange band on the horizon, distant mesas, one parked station wagon, cinematic wide shot, anamorphic flare, no text, no letters --ar 16:9 --stylize 250

Desert Motel Neon Sign at Dusk is a Midjourney v7 prompt for a 16:9 cinematic roadside scene in deep indigo and neon pink. The sign panel is deliberately left blank and unlit so the neon reads as shape and glow rather than invented lettering.

How to use this prompt

Vintage signage is the fastest way to ruin a neon shot, because the model will happily invent a motel name in melted letters. Splitting the sign — "blank unlit sign panel" but glowing "arrow and starburst elements" — keeps all the mid-century character with none of the garbled type. The wet asphalt is not decoration: without it the neon has nothing to bounce off and the lower half of a 16:9 frame goes dead black. "The last orange band on the horizon" pins the exact dusk minute; say "sunset" and you get a bright orange sky that overpowers the neon completely. One parked car gives scale — two or more turns it into a busy parking lot.

Variations to try

Shift to full night with a lit vacancy sign glow, headlights approaching, and no horizon band
Move it to a coastal setting: palms, sea haze, and a turquoise-and-coral neon palette
