How to use this prompt
The lighting direction is the entire trick: heat-lamp light falls on the plate first and bounces up onto the face, which is exactly how a real pass looks and why the portrait feels observed rather than posed. Ask for "dramatic kitchen lighting" and you get a moody studio portrait with a kitchen wallpapered in behind. "Angled down toward the plate" keeps the eyeline honest — a chef staring at the lens while holding tweezers looks staged and is the tell restaurant clients reject. Keep stylize low. Above about 300 Midjourney starts idealising skin into a plastic finish, which undoes the "natural skin texture" cue and makes the shot unusable for an About page.
