Quilt Block Star Pattern
Stable DiffusionQuilt Block Star Pattern is an SDXL 1.0 prompt for a traditional pieced quilt design at 1:1. Naming the LeMoyne block and insisting the eight points meet at one centre is what keeps the geometry credible to anyone who quilts.

Prompt
A traditional patchwork quilt in a repeating LeMoyne star block layout, eight diamond points radiating from a single sharp centre in alternating cranberry and indigo cotton prints against a bone-white background, small-scale floral and ticking-stripe fabrics, visible hand-quilted stitch lines running in parallel rows across the whole surface, slight cotton weave texture, flat overhead view, soft even light, no shadows, no text
Negative prompt
blurry, low quality, 3d, perspective, rumpled fabric, cast shadows, glossy sheen, text, watermark, misaligned seams, gap at the star centre, digital gradient, machine-printed look

How to use this prompt
Quilt designs are judged at the seam. Eight diamonds in a LeMoyne star must converge on one sharp point, and left to itself SDXL leaves a gap or spins the centre into a pinwheel — which is why the gap is banned in the negative as well as specified in the prompt. Naming the block gives the model a real reference to draw on rather than a generic star. The hand-quilted stitch lines are the second essential: they sit on top of the piecing as surface texture, and without them the result reads as printed wrapping paper rather than layered, stitched cloth.
Variations to try
- Switch to a Flying Geese block in mustard and teal, keeping the same hand-quilted stitch rows
- Scrappy version: many different prints per star rather than two, on an unbleached calico ground
