How to use this prompt

"Seven" horseshoe arches is the count that reads as a real corridor — three arches reads as a doorway, twelve loses the recession. The horseshoe shape is the Islamic signature that separates Andalusian from a Gothic cloister; a rounded Roman arch would be wrong. Muted teal, ochre and white zellige is the authentic Alhambra palette — bright primary colours read Mexican folk and break the period. Muqarnas at the arch springing points is the detail that anchors the architecture as Islamic, not just vaguely Moorish; skip them and the corridor drifts toward a Victorian orientalist fantasy. One narrow clerestory light shaft is the Andalusian lighting trick — interior courtyards were dim, and shafts of light were the design feature.

Variations to try

  • Add a central reflecting pool running down the corridor floor for the Alhambra Court of the Myrtles
  • Swap horseshoe arches for multi-lobed scallop arches for a Granada-influenced variant
