Two rules make diagrams work. First, never ask the model for labels — reserve "a wide blank margin down the right side" and set the type yourself, because generated label text arrives as convincing nonsense and a diagram with fake words is worse than one with none. Second, "drawn at their true depths within the correct layers" is what makes this educational rather than decorative; left to itself the model floats a carrot through the bedrock, and that single error is what gets a diagram rejected by anyone teaching from it. Enumerate the four horizons separately or they blend into one brown gradient.
