Golden hour is the most requested lighting in AI imagery and the least often specified properly. "Golden hour" alone gets you an orange filter over midday light — warm colour, but shadows still falling straight down, which is exactly what golden hour is not. The defining property is *angle*: the sun sits close to the horizon, so shadows stretch long across the ground, rim light wraps the edges of everything facing away from camera, and the air itself scatters into visible haze. Name those three and the warmth follows naturally; name only the warmth and you get a filter. Every prompt here specifies the angle and what it does. The nine are spread across subject types on purpose, because low-angle light behaves differently on each: landscape in coastal cliffs, a wildflower meadow and a dawn cloudscape; water in a lake dock, a mountain-lake kayak and a beach cabana, where the low sun creates a specular path straight toward the viewer; a living subject in an elephant at sunset, where rim light separates the animal from the ground; and a mecha hangar at dawn, showing the same physics applied to hard-surface sci-fi.
