If you sell on Etsy or run a print-on-demand shop, two kinds of images make or break a listing: clean mockups to show your design on a product, and print-ready templates you can sell as digital downloads. Both are perfect jobs for AI — but only if you prompt them the right way, because the default output fights you on the exact thing you need.

For apparel, a shirt on a hanger reads as a real product. Keep the chest “completely blank” and ask for subtle fabric folds — a perfectly flat shirt looks fake, but heavy folds distort a print placed on top.

Totes photograph best flat and top-down, which keeps the front a clean undistorted rectangle. Natural undyed canvas is the seller favorite because it flatters earthy, hand-lettered, and botanical designs.

Candle, packaging & card mockups

Keep the product description identical and change only the setting or colorway — that consistency is what makes a listing look professionally shot.
